Booktube-A-Thon Reading List (TBR)

The best week of the reading year starts tomorrow! If you’re not familiar with the Booktube-A-Thon it’s a week-long readathon (a reading marathon!) hosted by Ariel Bissett and it will take place from July 24th to July 30th.

Every year there are three kinds of challenges: seven reading challenges, instagram challenges, and video challenges. You don’t have to complete all seven challenges, you just need to have fun!

This is my second attempt at the Booktube-A-Thon, and like last year I’m going to try and complete all seven reading challenges, while tracking everything I read. This is honestly one of my favorite times of the year, and I can’t wait to hear from you whether or not you’re also participating, and which books are on your TBR.

If you want to know what I’ll be reading during this week, keep on reading this post!

Books I Want to Read this Summer

Before I get to the list of the books I’m dying to read this summer I’d like to say that I’m finally back and ready to blog! I haven’t posted anything in a little under three and a half months, and my only excuse is that I was very busy with school and on a big reading slump I’m only now getting over. But now that I have no deadlines looming over my head, I can finally put my heart into this community once again!

Black History Month in literature (TBR)

I don’t usually post monthly ‘to-be-read’ piles, but I want to make an exception for this month, as it is Black History Month (BHM). While I’ve never celebrated this themed month before — I was never aware that it existed in the United States — I figured that this year was a great time to start doing it through one of my favorite mediums, literature.

This month I’m going to be reading books written by black writers. Given that I’ve got a lot of books sitting on my to-be-read shelf on Goodreads by African or African-American authors, I think this is the best time to get to them. However, just as a disclaimer, I’d like to say that I do plan on reading African and African-American authors in the other months of the year instead of just in February.

Holiday BookTubeAThon 2016 (TBR)

The time has finally come! Fuzzy socks, fingerless-gloves and warm pajamas are going to be my best friends from 29th December to 31st December during the Holiday BookTubeAThon 2016.

I still have one book to read until I reach my 2016 reading goal challenge and, hopefully, during these three days I’ll surpass it. But, while I’m still waiting for my favorite time of the year – the days during which I can bury myself in books and not speak to a single soul without feeling alone, – I have a reading list to set and share, so here it is!
